Renowned coach Mickey Arthur recently shared his perspective on the current decline of cricket in Pakistan, addressing some longstanding issues and offering solutions. Arthur believes that the talent in Pakistan is abundant and blames the inconsistency in selection for the team’s lackluster performance.
In a social media post, Arthur criticized the media for their negative portrayal of the team and cautioned players against getting carried away by their success. He emphasized the importance of providing structure and support to players to improve team morale and performance.
Arthur, who was dismissed as Team Director following Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the 2023 ODI World Cup, had previously led Pakistan to victory in the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 under Sarfaraz Ahmed’s captaincy.
Currently, Pakistan is facing England in a Test series at home, with the team trailing 1-0 after losing the first Test in Multan. The selectors are yet to announce the squad for the upcoming second Test at the same venue.
