The upcoming Assembly elections in Maharashtra are scheduled to take place on November 20, while the polls in Jharkhand will be held in two phases on November 13 and 20, as announced by the Election Commission of India.
There are a total of 9.63 crore eligible voters in Maharashtra and 2.6 crore in Jharkhand, according to Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar.
In addition to the state elections, bye-elections will also be held for 47 assembly seats and the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat on November 13.
The votes cast in both Maharashtra and Jharkhand will be counted on November 23.
