The Telangana Government has forged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sun Petrochemicals to initiate the development of three Pumped Storage Hydro Power projects located in the districts of Nagarkurnool, Mancherial, and Mulugu.
These projects will collectively generate a capacity of 3,400 MW and will be supported by integrated solar power facilities with an additional capacity of 5,440 MW. With an anticipated investment of ₹45,500 crore, the initiative is expected to create more than 7,000 job opportunities during the construction phase, as per an official statement.
The MoU was formalized between senior officials from the Telangana Government and representatives from Sun Petrochemicals in Davos. This partnership is aimed at optimizing renewable energy resources, thereby addressing energy requirements while facilitating the state’s transition to greener energy solutions.
