Startup incubator T-Hub has introduced T-Edge, a new initiative aimed at providing extensive advisory services on legal, financial, and procurement matters. This program particularly emphasizes the development of intellectual property (IP) strategies, focusing on how to protect innovations and convert them into valuable assets that promote sustainable growth.
During the inaugural session held on Tuesday, T-Edge covered essential techniques for establishing solid IP strategies and navigating the patent and trademark processes to ensure the protection of proprietary innovations.
A thought-provoking panel discussion titled ‘The Role of IP in Accelerating the Innovation Ecosystem’ allowed experts to delve into key topics, such as the optimal timing for startups to pursue patents, strategies to use IP in boosting business valuation, and cost-effective ways to defend intellectual property against infringement.
Additionally, the panel explored the specific copyright challenges that AI-driven startups encounter, provided practical advice for filing patents internationally, and addressed the enforcement obstacles that arise in global markets. This offered startups actionable insights into maneuvering through the complex IP landscape.
Sujit Jagirdar, Interim CEO of T-Hub, remarked, “This workshop represents an important milestone in empowering entrepreneurs with the necessary knowledge and tools to protect their innovations. By partnering with NALSAR, we are filling a crucial void in the startup ecosystem and fostering a culture of IP awareness that will be vital for the long-term success of startups in our country.”
