Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several development projects exceeding ₹12,200 crore at approximately 12:15 PM on Sunday, January 5, in Delhi.
Prior to the inauguration, the Prime Minister will embark on a ride aboard the Namo Bharat Train, departing from Sahibabad RRTS Station and heading to New Ashok Nagar RRTS Station at around 11:15 AM, according to a press release from the Prime Minister’s Office.
Highlighting a significant advancement in regional connectivity, PM Modi will open the 13 km stretch of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor between Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar, valued at approximately ₹4,600 crore. This development marks the introduction of Namo Bharat connectivity to Delhi, greatly simplifying travel between Delhi and Meerut and providing millions with a high-speed, comfortable, and reliable travel option.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a 2.8 km segment of the Delhi Metro Phase-IV, specifically the stretch connecting Janakpuri to Krishna Park, which has an estimated cost of around ₹1,200 crore. This will be the inaugural section of the Delhi Metro Phase-IV, benefiting areas in West Delhi, including Krishna Park, parts of Vikaspuri, and Janakpuri.
Furthermore, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the 26.5 km Rithala-Kundli section of Delhi Metro Phase-IV, which is expected to cost around ₹6,230 crore. This corridor will link Rithala in Delhi to Nathupur (Kundli) in Haryana, significantly improving connectivity in North-Western Delhi and Haryana. Key areas such as Rohini, Bawana, Narela, and Kundli will benefit from this expansion, which will enhance access to residential, commercial, and industrial zones. Once operational, the extended Red Line will facilitate travel across Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.
Lastly, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for a new state-of-the-art building for the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) in Rohini, New Delhi. This project, with an estimated cost of ₹185 crore, aims to enhance healthcare and medical infrastructure in the area. The new complex will feature an Administrative Block, an OPD Block, an IPD Block, and a dedicated Treatment Block, providing an integrated and seamless healthcare experience for both patients and researchers.
