Leaders from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) voiced their endorsement of the ‘One Nation, One Election’ bill on Tuesday, emphasizing its key benefits, particularly the elimination of “time-wasting” associated with staggered elections. Shiv Sena representative Manisha Kayanade remarked on the financial and temporal inefficiencies caused by repetitive electoral cycles, underscoring the importance of implementing a unified electoral system. “Endless elections squander our nation’s valuable time and resources. To overcome this issue, the One Nation, One Election approach is essential,” she stated.
Furthermore, TDP MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu expressed his party’s backing for the bill, labeling it as “pro-development.” He asserted, “We support the One Nation, One Election Bill because it fosters development. This legislation is crucial for promoting good governance. Whenever discussions arise about development or governance, Chandrababu Naidu is always prominent, advocating for these causes. In the same spirit, we back this bill.”
Another Shiv Sena leader, Uday Samant, added that the One Nation, One Election initiative will greatly benefit the country. “It will be advantageous for the nation. This has been Prime Minister Modi’s pledge, and we stand with him,” Samant noted.
