Kerala Government has received Expression of Interests for investments worth ₹1,52,905.67 crore from 374 companies in the two-day Invest Kerala Global Summit (IKGS 2025), P.Rajeeve, the State Industries Minister has said.
Addressing the valedictory function of IKGS 2025, the Minister said these 374 companies have evinced interest in establishing, expanding, diversifying and reinvesting in the State.
A total of 24 IT companies have expressed interests in expanding operations with an additional investment of nearly ₹8,500 crore and additional employment of 60,000 and about 66 companies have submitted EoI for investments to the tune of over Rs500 crore.
The government, the Minister said, will set up a fast-track mechanism for each EoI signed by the investors. The further work on these proposals will begin from the next working day onwards. A special dashboard and mechanism will also be set up for the following up of these proposals.
“I would like to ensure the business community that there is a specific structured mechanism for proper professional follow-up of each EoI. A nodal officer will be assigned and a committee chaired by the Chief Secretary will do the periodic review. Chief Minster will hold review meeting to evaluate the progress of the EoIs”, he added.
A dedicated investor toll free number and email Id will be notified towards expediting the implementation of new investments, diversification and expansion of the state’s limit.
The 2-day event witnessed country-focused sessions that explored investment opportunities from six countries, including Germany, Vietnam, Norway, UAE, France and Malaysia. Global industry leaders, planners, policymakers, entrepreneurs and prospective investors including delegates from 26 countries attended.
Earlier, at an IT round table, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the government will offer all possible support to investors. The government is giving great importance to investments in the IT sector as this the industry, which does not require land and natural resources and is most suited for a densely populated state like Kerala.
Highlighting the IT sector in the State, he said around 2 lakh IT professionals are working in about 2000 registered companies in the three important IT parks located in Kerala. Out of these, more than 30 per cent are women. The IT industry indirectly opens the way for employment opportunities in other sectors including support services like transportation, security, and real estate, the Chief Minister said.
