Bollywood actor Sohum Shah’s latest film, Crazy, had a slow start at the box office despite receiving positive reviews. The film, which was highly anticipated, only managed to earn ₹90 lakh on its opening day, failing to cross the ₹1 crore mark. In comparison, Chhava continues to dominate the box office, with total earnings surpassing ₹550 crore.
Even though Crazy was praised by critics, it struggled to attract a large audience on its first day. The film recorded a 16.53% occupancy rate for Hindi shows, with morning shows at 12.10% occupancy, afternoon shows at 11.06%, evening shows at 14.52%, and night shows peaking at 28.45%. Reports suggest that the film’s budget is around ₹20 crore, but there has been no official confirmation.
Crazy follows the story of a surgeon whose life takes a dangerous turn after receiving a mysterious phone call. Starring Sohum Shah in the lead role, the film also features Tinnu Anand, Nimisha Sajayan, and Shilpa Shukla. Directed by Girish Kohli and produced by a team including Sohum Shah, the film includes cameo appearances by Rakhi Sawant and Poonam Pandey in the song “Goli Maar Bheje Mein.”
With a disappointing opening, the makers of Crazy are now pinning their hopes on the weekend to boost box office collections. It remains to be seen if the film can gain momentum and turn its fortunes around in the coming days.
