Stree 2, the highly awaited horror comedy sequel directed by Amar Kaushik, continues to dominate the box office. With a star-studded cast including Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Tamannaah Bhatia, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee, the film has managed to maintain its strong performance despite a slight decrease in collections on its 14th day.
On its 14th day in cinemas, Stree 2 collected an estimated net amount of around $113 thousand. Although this marks the film’s lowest single-day collection since its release on August 15, it still reflects the movie’s overall success.
Stree 2 has been setting new records consistently and has now surpassed the domestic collections of the blockbuster film Baahubali: The Beginning. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Stree 2 has now grossed approximately $50.5 million domestically, exceeding Baahubali: The Beginning’s previous record of $50.1 million. This achievement has placed Stree 2 as the ninth highest-grossing Indian film, surpassing other major releases like Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein. Even after two weeks, Stree 2 continues to perform exceptionally well.
Internationally, the film crossed the $71.5 million mark earlier this week. While there has been a natural decline in collections, Stree 2 is expected to have a strong third weekend. Predictions indicate that it could reach the $59.5 million milestone by Monday, solidifying its position as a major box office success.
Looking ahead, Stree 2 is on track to break more records, with no major new releases slated to affect its performance. The film has the potential to become the second highest-grossing film of all time, with its next target being the lifetime record of Jawan, which stands at an impressive $69.5 million. If Stree 2 continues on its current path, it could potentially surpass this record in the coming weeks.
