The screening will take place at Jaipur’s renowned Raj Mandir Cinema, where cinema lovers will get a chance to relive the memories associated with this classic film.
Ramesh Sippy’s timeless masterpiece, ‘Sholay’, will be showcased at the IIFA event, marking a significant milestone in Indian cinema history. Andre Timmins, co-founder of IIFA, expressed his excitement for the occasion, stating, “IIFA 2025 is a journey through time, honoring the 50-year legacy of ‘Sholay’ at the iconic Raj Mandir in Jaipur. This year also marks IIFA’s silver jubilee, celebrating the enduring magic of cinema that has touched hearts for generations.”
‘Sholay’ holds a special place in Indian cinema as a cult classic, featuring stellar performances by Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, and others. The film’s storyline revolves around the village of Ramgarh, where Thakur Baldev Singh enlists the help of two small-time crooks, Jai and Veeru, to take down the ruthless dacoit Gabbar Singh.
The IIFA Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Jaipur from March 8 to March 9, with Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kartik Aaryan hosting the event. The telecast of the award function is set for March 14, offering fans a chance to witness the glamour and excitement of the evening.
