There’s a universal truth that your makeup will always look its finest when you apply it while sitting on the floor. As someone who often travels between tents, cars, hotels, and friends’ homes, having a reliable lighted makeup mirror is crucial. In my review of the best Lighted Makeup Mirrors, I proudly declare myself the queen of makeup application in the most unexpected locations under tight schedules. The Fancii Abigail has become my top choice for a makeup companion, or else my middle name isn’t Abigail. (Spoiler: it is.)
The Fancii Abigail boasts a diameter of nearly 8 inches and can be folded down into a slim, flat disc weighing around a pound. It’s effortlessly portable, fitting neatly into a backpack or suitcase. In my experience, it has proven to be quite sturdy. Despite a few accidental drops, it continues to appear brand-new. Its folding design protects the mirror from scratches and smudges. When unfolded, it provides a makeup mirror size that’s just right—not too large, yet not excessively small. I can see my entire face comfortably, unlike with smaller compacts, but it remains compact enough for convenient transport. While it’s not intended for super quick touch-ups, it’s excellent for getting ready without having to stoop over a hotel bathroom sink or awkwardly angle my neck toward a poorly positioned mirror. I usually stash it in my backpack in case I need to pull off a full makeup look on short notice. I do wish it came in more color options—currently, it’s offered in white or black—but I plan to personalize mine with stickers soon to add a touch of my own style.
Aesthetic Appeal
The Fancii Abigail features an integrated ring light that’s quite impressive. It offers three different light temperature settings—soft white, natural daylight, and neutral white—allowing you to switch easily depending on your environment. The brightness is ample, and the battery life lasts about a month (or even longer based on my tests, totaling around 10 hours of usage), recharging in approximately two hours via USB-C. You can even use it while it’s being charged. The adjustable angle feature has simplified my makeup application process in any setting. You can fully open it to resemble a giant compact, which makes it slightly top-heavy, yet maneuverability counters that. Alternatively, you can fold it out for a stand-up option with improved angle adjustment. The interface is straightforward—tap a button on the touchscreen to power it on, hold the power button to modify brightness, and tap the temperature button to switch between light settings. When finished, it clicks shut with a satisfying sound and remains securely closed, though it’s also easy to open, thanks to the nail groove near the clasp.
