Shares of BEL, Hindalco, Eicher Motors, Axis Bank and Laresn & Turbo emerged as major gainers in the Nifty 50 pack in Wednesday’s trade, while stocks of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, TCS, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, and Adani Enterprises depreciated.
IT and pharmaceutical stocks dragged amid market volatility, while banking, realty, infrastructure, and metals stocks showed resilience.
The broader market closed in the red; however, it rebounded from an early loss in today’s trading session. Sensex closed at 75,939.18, down 28.21 points or 0.04 per cent, and Nifty 50 slipped 12.40 points or 0.05 per cent to 22,932.90.
Top gainers
Bharat Electronics Ltd led the gainers, ending 3.54 per cent positive at ₹253.25. Hindalco Industries followed closely, rising by 2.70 per cent to end at ₹627.95.
Automobile stock Eicher Motors ended 1.92 per cent positive at ₹4,810. The Axis Bank stock registered a gain of 1.53 per cent at ₹1,009.4.
In addition, the Larsen & Toubro (LT) stock closed at ₹3,268.95, up 1.52 per cent.
Top losers
On the other hand, shares that felt selling pressure include Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, which recorded the steepest decline, falling by 2.48 per cent to close at ₹1,167.75.
The IT index also faced pressure, with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) declining by 2.28 per cent at ₹3,785, and Infosys falling 2.22 per cent at ₹1,810.85.
FMCG major Hindustan Unilever dipped 2 per cent, closing at ₹2,250. Adani Enterprises declined 1.95 per cent, ending at ₹2,177.
