The Rubber Board’s iSNR initiative aims to boost the global value of Indian natural rubber and promote sustainable production practices. By facilitating compliance with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), the platform will verify the origin of rubber products and ensure they meet EU standards. This will position Indian natural rubber as a competitive and responsible choice in the global market, driving long-term growth for the industry.
In addition to the iSNR initiative, the government plans to increase subsidies for natural rubber cultivation to support the overall development of the sector. The INR Konnect platform will connect growers of untapped rubber holdings with adopters to maximize plantation productivity. With many plantations in India remaining untapped due to pricing and production cost issues, this initiative aims to revitalize neglected plantations and increase crop yields.
The platform will also offer training in production management and sustainable practices, as well as a database of certified tappers. The awards for the best performers of ‘mRube’, the digital marketing platform of NR, were also distributed at the meeting. Panel discussions were held to address various topics related to schemes and policies to support stakeholders in the rubber industry.
Overall, the Rubber Board’s initiatives aim to enhance the value and sustainability of Indian natural rubber, setting new standards for global competitiveness and responsible production practices. This will not only benefit the industry but also contribute to the growth of the Indian economy.
