Tembo Defence Products Private Ltd, a subsidiary of Tembo Global Industries Ltd, has inked a ₹1,000-crore investment deal with the Maharashtra government to bolster defence manufacturing in the State. The agreement, announced on Wednesday, is set to generate 300 new jobs in the area.
At 3.15 p.m., shares of Tembo Global Industries Limited were trading at ₹718, reflecting a 2.62 per cent increase on the NSE.
The pact was formalized in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Tembo Global Industries Director Shabbir Merchant. Furthermore, Tembo Defence Products has been invited to showcase its defence technologies at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Sanjay J. Patel, Managing Director of Tembo Global Industries, highlighted the importance of the agreement in enhancing defence manufacturing capabilities and boosting regional employment. The parent company, established in 2010, specializes in metal components for pipe support systems and expanded into defence product manufacturing in 2024.
In recent years, Tembo Global Industries, which holds a 2-star Export House status, has diversified its offerings by entering the EPC contracting sector in 2023 and the solar power industry in 2024. The company’s products are certified by Underwriter’s Laboratory Inc (the US) and FM Approval (the US) for Fire Sprinkler System Installations.
