Godrej Agrovet Limited has announced its decision to acquire the remaining 48.06 per cent equity stake in Creamline Dairy Products Limited (CDPL) for ₹930 crore, thereby making CDPL its wholly-owned subsidiary. The board of directors approved the acquisition during a meeting on March 11, 2025.
Following the announcement, the shares of Godrej Agrovet Limited closed at ₹739 on the NSE, marking a decrease of ₹6.45 or 0.87 per cent.
The transaction, expected to be finalized by September 30, 2025, will further strengthen Godrej Agrovet’s position in CDPL, which is known for marketing dairy products under the ‘Godrej Jersey’ brand. Currently, Godrej Agrovet holds a 51.94 per cent stake in the dairy company.
Additionally, the board has sanctioned the appointment of Y.V. Sathish as the Head of Manufacturing & Supply Chain Excellence, effective March 24, 2025. Sathish will succeed Mr. Prafulla Bhat, who is set to retire at the end of this month. With nearly three decades of experience at companies like GlaxoSmithKline and Hindustan Unilever Limited, Sathish currently oversees operations at Unilever’s Sumerpur factory, which is the largest in the South Asia cluster.
Established in 1986, CDPL is a prominent private dairy company in southern India, with a turnover of ₹1,54,050.18 lakh for the fiscal year 2023-24, displaying consistent growth from ₹1,47,157.99 lakh in 2022-23 and ₹1,15,350.25 lakh in 2021-22.
