The extended range includes frame sizes 280-355 and is certified for gas groups IIA, IIB, and IIC, complying with PESO (Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization) certification requirements. The motors feature pressure-tested enclosures to prevent flame propagation in case of internal explosions and can operate in temperatures between -20°C to +60°C.
Available in IE2, IE3, and IE4 efficiency classes, the motors are engineered to optimise performance while reducing energy consumption. The launch completes ABB India’s flameproof motor range, which now spans from 0.18kW to 500kW.
Sanjeev Arora, President of Motion Business at ABB India, emphasised that the new range combines advanced flameproof technology with superior performance while ensuring compliance with global standards. The company has supplied over 500,000 motors globally for use in potentially explosive environments, reinforcing its position in providing solutions for hazardous operations.
