Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is visiting India for four days to enhance bilateral relations and to attend the Republic Day celebrations. The Ministry of External Affairs has emphasized that this visit will play a significant role in strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations.
Upon his arrival in New Delhi—marking his first official state visit since taking office in October 2024—President Subianto received a warm welcome from Minister of State P. Margherita at the airport. He is set to be the chief guest at India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations.
The Ministry’s spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, noted that the visit will reinforce the India-Indonesia comprehensive strategic partnership, highlighting Indonesia’s crucial role in India’s Act East Policy and the broader vision for the Indo-Pacific region.
During his visit, President Subianto will be honored with a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday morning, followed by bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House. The agenda includes the signing of memorandums of understanding (MOUs) and issuing press statements. Additionally, President Subianto is scheduled to meet with President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.
This official visit provides an opportunity for leaders from both countries to review their bilateral ties and engage in discussions concerning regional and global issues of mutual interest.
