OCS preliminary exam 2023: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has announced the postponement of the Odisha Civil Services (OCS) Preliminary Examination-2023, which was originally scheduled for October 27, due to the severe cyclonic storm.
“In view of the impending cyclonic storm “DANA”, the OCS Preliminary Examination-2023, which was supposed to be held on 27.10.2024, has been postponed,” as per the OPSC notification.
The new date for the OCS Preliminary examination will be communicated after seven days, the notice further mentioned.
This decision was taken by the OPSC authorities to ensure the safety of all candidates, exam staff, and stakeholders involved in the examination process, as Cyclone DANA is expected to hit the region on October 24-25.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the OPSC website (opsc.gov.in) for updates on the rescheduled exam date and other important notifications.
Earlier this week, the OPSC released the admit cards for the OCS preliminary exam 2023 on its official website at opsc.gov.in. Applicants who have successfully registered for the Odisha Civil Service Prelims exam can download their hall tickets by entering their credentials like Registration Number and Date of Birth.
Meanwhile, parts of Kendrapara and Bhadrak districts in Odisha experienced rainfall and adverse weather conditions on Wednesday afternoon, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) indicating that the outer bands of Cyclone DANA have started affecting the eastern coastline.
Senior IMD scientist Umashankar Das shared on social media, “Radar data from Paradip suggests that the outer band of Cyclone ‘Dana’ has made landfall in Bhadrak and Kendrapara districts.”
